Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelensʹkyj said late Thursday that according to preliminary figures, at least 137 Ukrainian soldiers had been killed since the Russian invasion began early on Thursday, and 316 soldiers have been wounded.
Though official figures may never be known, it is believed that about 10% of the country’s population died.
It is not clear how Navarro came up with his figure and analysts have since argued that it could be much lower.
Local authorities reported that the city of Hatyai, a major economic hub in Songkhla province, was hit with 335 millimetres (more than 13 inches) of rain on Friday, the highest 24‐hour figure in 300 years.
